The best ways to make money
Faith and devotion are wonderful, but love does not buy building materials or food, and every sect needs money. In Worship of the Lamb, one of the challenges of building a successful devotee church is keeping the coffers full. There are times when the Lamb must choose between money and devotion, with options to give money while taking it.
There are many options for crafting gold, including the ability to craft it from nuggets or ingots. The Lamb can even build a guild of capitalists and materialists if they choose, but even a cult based on the nobility of poverty needs a few coins from time to time.
Choose certain doctrines
As a cult leader, part of how the player decides what type of cult they will build is through the power of Doctrines. Some of them reject the concepts of personal possession. Others place more importance on work and other means of generating income than on spiritual development. The following Doctrines are best for a Lamb who wants to make money:
- Inspire: This generates more revenue later in the game when the Inspiration tables are maxed out and loyalty results in coins instead.
- Tax specialist: Choose between Silver and Loyalty Generation at Level 4 of Law & Order. On the money side is Tax Enforcer, where a follower is appointed to collect the annual tithe from others.
- Extort tithes: Each option in the Possession category is useful for earning money or increasing the materialistic aspects of the cult. This is one of the best and most reliable ways to make regular gold, generating two gold per follower every day.
- Enrichment ritual. At level 3 of Possession, the Lamb can either take it or give it. The obvious choice for those looking to max out their gold is the Enrichment Ritual, in which all adepts pour silver on their savior.
Selling Resources Using the Ritual Chest
Whoever waits will speak directly to the Lamb when he reaches a milestone, which often means defeating one of the bishops. After the First Bishop is defeated, he will carry the Lamb to his lair in the Nether and announce a new feature for the cult, the Ritual Chest.
The Lamb can exchange anything in its inventory for gold using the Ritual Chest, and some items are more valuable than others. Raw resources are the cheapest, followed by seeds, then plants. Gold bars trade for ten gold each, which is far from the most expensive item on the list. Fish are some of the most valuable items the Lamb can sell, with Octopus for 50 gold each.
Maximize Divine Inspiration
The Lamb uses Divine Inspiration gathered from shrines and worshipers to enhance his plans and plans for the ideal worship complex. However, it only goes so far, and then the Inspiration is rewarded to the Lamb in coins.
This means that every shrine in the area, not just within the Lamb’s compound, has become a coin generator. By the time the tables of Divine Inspiration are full, the Lamb will have devotees in every place he can visit. Examples include the Mushroomos, with a small shrine now in Sozo’s bedroom; the Pilgrims of Light who worship in the Lighthouse; and the shed near Ratau’s Lonely Shack.
Visit Midas Cave
As the Lamb continues his crusade, he’ll find a spooky statue somewhere in Silk Cradle with an old sign, and Midas’ Cave will open up on the map. The lamb has to spend money before it can get here, but the long-term investment is worth it, especially if the player has reached the point in the game where inspiration and loyalty translate directly into coins. ‘gold.
Buy new Blueprints, Follower Forms, Tarot Cards, and even Divine Inspiration from the stalls in Midas Cave. Once there are enough coins in the Lamb’s pocket, they can use the shrine in the center of the room to make an offering. The Golden Gods will wait three days before rewarding the Lamb by increasing the original offering. It’s also possible that their gesture will be rejected, and the only return will be a handful of poop.
Win at the ossicles
The stakes are highest the more players there are in the Lonely Shack, and it’s more profitable to play Shrumy as opposed to Ratau, Flinky, or Klunko and Bop. Shrumy is the toughest opponent, but he also allows the highest bet at 50 gold per game.
The downside here is that Knucklebones is a game of chance. Unlike all the other ways to make money in the game, this is the only company that has the potential to lose gold at a higher rate. The other possible strategy here is to play the easier opponents more often to get more consistent wins.
