Family facing financial difficulties turns to Goodfellows
Mary’s family has four members, herself, her husband Raul and their two children, Alejandro, 7, and Mateo, 4. Their house is filled with love. It is also filled with challenges.
Raul has pancreatic cancer and cannot work. Mary takes care of him 24 hours a day, which makes it almost impossible for him to find a job.
âI tried to look for work, but because of the schedules, it’s difficult for me,â said Mary.
In addition to the physical and emotional hardships the family faces, there are financial hardships. They want to provide for their children and in order to do that, they just need help.
The Goodfellow Fund specializes in helping in such situations. The Star-Telegram charity has been there for families like Mary’s for over a century.
This year, the fund is offering $ 50 gift cards to make the holidays a little more enjoyable. They can be used to buy clothes and / or shoes for children like Mary’s.
âFor me, your donations would be very helpful,â she said humbly.
